In the industrial space of the compressor plant in the Lower Vítkovice area, we were given the task of creating a design for a shop for luxury American motorcycles Indian.
The interior already had charm before our intervention, so the concept was mainly to do the least harm to the space and complement it appropriately.
We based the design of the store’s furnishings on the existing interior elements. We complemented the existing machines sticking out of the ground, valves with an ornate display case or a twisted chain for hanging clothes on hangers.
We hung chain racks from the crane’s guide beam.
The hangers and racks for clothes are made of tubular construction with cast iron fittings, the shelves are made of tah metal. To accentuate the industrial feel, we used discarded pieces of valves, alarm clocks, gears and other bits and pieces we found in the closing factory in each furniture element.
We used vintage ornate radiators as a base for the tables in the café area.
The construction for the motorcycle display podiums is complete with riveting, as are the picture frames showcasing the history of the Indian brand.
A red curtain at the end unified the materially disparate wall and added a festive feel to the space.
