Apartment refurbishment

The refurbished apartment is located in the centre of Ostrava, in an apartment building from 1927. The reconstruction combines the charm of an old apartment with modern elements. Its interior was designed to meet the needs of a family of five and become a cozy home for them.
The main living space of the apartment was created by combining two smaller rooms and removing an inset closet. A wall with a television in the middle separates the kitchen and dining area from the living area. The light green kitchen is complemented by a wooden worktop and island. The island is illuminated by a wooden linear lamp. Above the dining table, two spherical design luminaires catch the eye. The dining table is complemented by a vintage chest of drawers and a cookbook bookcase. The living area features a light green couch with coffee table, a workstation and a large bookcase in oak. Parquet floors, renovated doors, high ceilings and a vintage white tile stove give the space the character of an old apartment.
The bedroom with en-suite bathroom and dressing room was created in place of the original kitchen. A large bed with a wooden wall and shelf dominates the space. Storage space is provided by chests of drawers on the side. The parapet is used as a practical make-up table. The green carpet creates a calming atmosphere in the room. From the bedroom there is access to a private bathroom with toilet and shower, as well as a dressing room.
The children’s room is furnished for three small boys. In addition to the sleeping area, it also contains a space for playing and learning. One of the beds is designed as a bunk bed and resembles a house, which meets the wishes of one of the boys. The play area provides plenty of space for playing on the denim-textured carpet and also features three work tables and storage for clothes and toys.
The main bathroom of the apartment is met with pleasant light tones and an interesting terrazzo motif tiling on the main viewing wall. The wooden cabinets, which serve as storage space, complement the overall design perfectly. In the bathroom we find a bathtub, a washbasin with an associated cabinet and a hanging toilet. The bathroom space is visually enlarged by a large recessed mirror.
