The design of Private Wellness in an Apartment Building in Ostrava emerged from a creative transformation of an empty residential unit and the expansion of the apartment building into the courtyard.
This ambitious transformation encompasses a diverse space with a minimalist expression, introducing a new dimension to living connected with wellness relaxation.
The first step involved extending the building into the courtyard and creating a new structure for the placement of wellness facilities. This approach not only expands the original space but also within the wellness area creates various types of spaces, from open areas to smaller sections with an intimate atmosphere.
The overall space is arranged in an orthogonal manner in both horizontal and vertical directions. The shape and placement are carefully designed to engage users. Luxury large-format materials, play of light and shadow, perspectives, and connections create a unique experience. Skylights, allowing natural light, play a crucial role in the overall design, enriching the space and connecting users with the surrounding environment.
Another important component of wellness is art. In addition to artistic elements directly in the wellness area, a small outdoor gallery with sculptures is designed, serving as an outdoor cooling space for the sauna in winter.
The design utilizes creative architecture and natural elements to create a harmonious environment that considers the user’s needs, establishing a place for tranquility, relaxation, and rejuvenation.
Overall, the concept of private wellness in an apartment building can be perceived as an innovative fusion of architecture, design, art, and relaxation.
